As of January 23, 2007, 43 different U.S. cities and 20 different counties have passed remote control safety resolutions. All of these resolutions call upon the Federal Railroad Administration to adopt enforceable regulations to make remote control operations safer. In addition to these 62 communities, 21 different AFL-CIO State Federations have adopted similar safety resolutions.
