Winkler wins 15th annual BLE Brass Bell Award

Karl Winkler of Tucson, Ariz., won the BLE's Brass Bell Award for locomotive modeling excellence at the National Model Railroad Association's annual National Convention.

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers held its Seventh Quinquennial International Convention at the Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla., from September 24-29, 2001. This issue provides a brief recap of events, an introduction of new officers and an explanation of changes made by delegates to the Constitution & Bylaws.

A full-slate of Brotherhood business - amending and updating the BLE's governing document, the Constitution & Bylaws - kept delegates in session from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, while regional caucusses and candidate campaigning kept them busy at night.
